Manhar K.

As a university student, Manhar has an active life: attending classes, studying, and hanging out with his friends. He needs a versatile hearing instrument that can keep up with his busy life. His Next 8 Behind-the-Ear (BTE) Power hearing instruments certainly keep him connected and give him what he needs to succeed.

Manhar has worn hearing devices for most of his life. With his previous hearing instruments, he had challenges with background noise and feedback: “There was no decrease in the level of background noise – it was hard to hear people when they spoke to me. Also, my hearing aids would whistle often – it was embarrassing.”

"Even in a noisy lecture hall, I can hear my friends clearly when they talk to me."

However, with his Next 8 hearing instruments, Manhar finds that the situation has really improved: “The level of background noise is much better and there is virtually no feedback issue.” Manhar has also noticed that he can hear conversations much better, even in noisy listening situations: “Even in a noisy lecture hall, I can hear my friends clearly when they talk to me. The sound quality is excellent.”

With an active life, Manhar has a variety of tools he uses to keep him connected. To hear his professors during lectures, Manhar uses an FM system. To stay connected with his friends and family, he uses a cellular phone. To stay up-to-date on the latest music, he uses an mp3 player. With his Next 8 hearing instruments, Manhar was able to use these various devices with without disruption: “During my classes, the hearing aids would automatically switch to an FM system so I could hear my professor. It was the same when I used my cell phone and mp3 player; I just used them and my hearing aids adjusted to the proper program automatically.”

Another device Manhar used with his Next hearing instruments was the Smart Control remote. With his Smart Control, Manhar makes adjustments to his hearing devices from the palm of his hand. “When I am sitting in class, I don’t like to move my hand up to my ear and adjust my hearing aid settings; it’s distracting for others sitting around me. I just keep my Smart Control in my pocket, allowing me to adjust my hearing aids discreetly.”

Manhar has been very happy with his Next 8 hearing instruments: “I would recommend these hearing aids, especially for people who have to deal with a lot of background noise.”
